About to Pop Baby Shower

When Nikka decorated her son's nursery, she was inspired by Frog Prince Paperie's modern and whimsical Giraffe Chevron collection. So naturally, when it came time to plan for her "About to Pop" themed baby shower, we went with the same orange and aqua color palette and chevron design.

For the dessert table, our mutual friend, Loan of PhoebeCakes, made a gorgeous 3 tiered cake topped with fondant balloons to coordinate with the invitations. Printable snack boxes were used to hold cake "pops" from Simply Irresistible Desserts. French macarons, also by Simply Irresistible Desserts, were stacked in a chevron pattern. Pom pom trim added flair to the chevron table runner from Fantasy Vintage Bridal.

The high ceilings at Maggiano's in Tysons Corner were accentuated by 3 36" round balloons from Shop Sweet Lulu. Globe topiaries hand-constructed from patterned paper served as the centerpiece at each table.

For activities, guests took a fun "pop" quiz, where they had to answer multiple choice questions like, "Which manufacturer makes Corn Pops breakfast cereal?" and "Which one is NOT a Pop-tart flavor?". They also guessed Nikka's delivery date on the "pop" chart. Movie tickets and "pop"corn were awarded to the winners.

Push "pops" filled with orange and powder blue Sixlets were given as the party favors.

It's been 3 months since the shower and she really is about to pop! Nikka and Will's bundle of joy is expected to arrive next week on May 23rd. We wish them all the best.
