Michelle of Sugar Cookie Creations is my "go-to" person for decorated sugar cookies. Not only are her cookies gorgeous, they're so tasty they'll make you forget all about counting calories. Show her a design and she'll replicate it. I love her attention to detail, and it's great that she's local. With my one year blogging anniversary just around the corner, I wanted to feature some of the amazing designers, bakers, photographers, and other vendors that I've had the absolute pleasure of working with over the past twelve months.
First on the list is Donna of Monkey Moo Moo. Both my Halloween and Easter parties were inspired by Monkey Moo Moo's designs, so when Donna launched her blog last week, I became one of her first followers. Did you catch her Rootin Tootin Western Party on Kara's Party Ideas? I always knew Donna was an incredible designer, but I was really blown away by her talent for styling parties. Visit her Etsy shop and new blog, and see why I've been such a big fan of her work.

Trick-or-Treat Halloween Party
Over 25 little goblins and ghouls were invited to our haunted house for a Trick-or-Treat Halloween party.
The table was tricked out with spooky dishes, like monster mash, yummy mummy pizzas and monster toes; and sweet treats, including Peeps ghost pops and decorated sugar cookies.
Homemade pumpkin cupcakes with cream cheese frosting were placed on top of my hand crafted candy corn cupcake stand.
Inexpensive foam crafts from Michael's were used to decorate the table.
Glittery purple bats hung from fallen branches that were spray painted black.
My husband did an amazing job carving the pumpkins to match the kitty, owl, and spider designs from Monkey Moo Moo.
The kids rotated to various crafting and game stations, and were mesmerized by some classic magic tricks.
Our handmade costumes were a big hit. Who would've guessed that we were scrambling to get our coordinating adult costumes done the night before!

Halloween Cupcake Toppers
I spent the past few days sculpting these cupcake toppers to coordinate with the Halloween designs from Monkey Moo Moo. Boy, it took me a really long time to make all of the tiny details. I even brushed them with some white pearl dust for a touch of shimmer (thanks for the tip, Loan). Tutorial: Candy Corn Cupcake Stand
Who doesn't love candy corn? It's a Halloween staple. Like every kid, I use to bite off the white tips and pretend they were vampire fangs. I couldn't help eating one or two, even when I was working on this candy corn cupcake stand.
For this tutorial, you'll just need three sheets of white 12"x12" glitter card stock (this one is from American Crafts purchased at AC Moore), 14" and 10" cake circles (from Michael's), a glass vase, two-sided tape, glue, and three 9 oz bags of candy corn.
1. Trace and cut one sheet of glitter card stock using the 10" cake circle as a template.
2. Glue the card stock on top of the white side of the cake circle.
3. Cut 3/16" strips of the card stock and glue to the sides of the cake circle.
4. Now for the fun part. Glue candy corn along the edge of the cake circle.
5. Repeat steps 1 through 4 with the 14" cake circle.
6. Fill the glass vase with candy corn. Then put two-sided tape along the lip of the vase and set the 10" cake circle on top.
