My mother-in-law was diagnosed with breast cancer last year, and although she is currently cancer free, I felt compelled to help support the cause when I turned 40. Yesterday, members from the Pink Princesses team braved the snow, wind and freezing temperatures to raise funds for the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer. On May 4th and 5th, we'll be walking 39 miles in the Washington DC event. For some of the incredible women on the team, this will be their 4th and 9th time walking!
It was so uplifting and encouraging to hear stories and receive overwhelming support from complete strangers. One young fellow mentioned that there were 3 breast cancer survivors in his family. My heart goes out to a lady who talked about her friend who was undergoing chemo at the age of 40.
Special thanks to Tanya for baking dozens of delicious chocolate chip and oatmeal raisin cookies, and Heather of Chickabug for the free breast cancer awareness printable collection that was designed for fundraising efforts.

Brooke, thanks again for welcoming me with open arms and for organizing the bake sale.
DeleteChristine, this is such a lovely table! It's exactly what I had in mind for a real-life bake sale (compared to the amazing photoshoot you styled, of course!). The cookies look super-delicious, too, I have to say... : )
ReplyDeleteWow, everything looks fantastic! You gals really set up a beautiful table. Congrats on raising so much money and awareness for such an important cause!
