Pumpkin Pie in a Jar

One of the things I look forward to most on Thanksgiving day is pumpkin pie! Homemade pumpkin pie with a dollop of whipped cream just melts in your mouth. I could have it all year round. This holiday season, show your thanks by giving pumpkin pie in a jar. My "go to" recipe can be found on the back of Libby's Easy Pumpkin Pie Mix. Just add eggs and evaporated milk to the mix, then pop in the oven. Easy as pie. Here are some other super simple recipes you can try:

Children's Alopecia Project Thanksgiving Potluck

On Saturday, we had the pleasure of hosting the first Children's Alopecia Project (CAP) Thanksgiving potluck for the Virginia/Maryland chapter. CAP is a wonderful organization that raises awareness and provides support for kids with alopecia, an incurable autoimmune disease that causes hair loss. Our son, Camden, who is turning 4 in January, started losing his hair at 19 months. Especially during this time of year, we feel so grateful that he is a sweet, happy, and healthy little boy.

The "Tree of Thanks" idea came from Paula at Frog Prince Paperie, who also designed all of the printables.

The delicious spread included honey baked ham, rotisserie chicken, wheat rolls, and pasta salad. Katie, the chapter's founder, brought over homemade apple pie, mini cheese cakes, and cupcakes. It was so nice just to sit down and share a meal with everyone. We hope to make it a tradition every year.
